  5. 1/2 teaspoon Ajwain

  8. 2 tablespoon curd
  9. as required Water

  11. 1 teaspoon oil
  12. 2 medium onions fine paste
  13. 3 tomatoes (grind into paste)
  14. 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  15. 1 teaspoon Red Chilli powder
  16. 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  17. 1 teaspoon Jeera powder
  18. 1/4 teaspoon coriander powder
  19. 1 tablespoon Kasuri methi
  20. 1/4 cup curd
  21. as required Water
  22. As needed Coriander leaves for garnishing
  23. As per taste Salt

Instructions to make to make Gatta curry

  1. Take the besan flour in a bowl, add spices and oil and mix together.
    Now add curd and water and knead into a soft dough.
    Now make small balls and flatten then on your palms.
  2. In a vessel, boil 3 cups of water. Add a pinch of salt and cook the gatta balls in the water.
  3. Once the gattas start to float on the water and get some bubbles on it, they are ready to take out.
    Let them cool on a plate and once cooled, your can cut them into small pieces but that is optional.
    Preserve the water for gravy.
  4. For the gravy, heat oil in another kadhai. Add the onions paste and saute well. Then add tomatoes and salt. Add all the spices to the curd and mix well. Add this curd to the gravy and add the leftover water from boiled gattas to the gravy.
  5. Now add the gattas to the gravy and let it cook for 5 minutes on low flame.
  6. Garnish the gatta curry with some Kasuri methi and coriander leaves.
  7. Serve hot with chapatis or rice.
